The trailer revealed that Matt King, famous for his role as Super Hans in the sitcom Peep Show, will voice Humphry, a character once hailed as Albion’s greatest hero. However, his glory days are long behind him. The trailer hints that Humphry will be pulled out of retirement when a mysterious figure from his past threatens the very existence of Albion. Whether Humphry will be a companion during gameplay or simply appear in cutscenes is still unclear, but early footage suggests he might join the player during key moments.
The gameplay trailer also teased some of the game’s world-building, showcasing detailed towns and lively villagers – a promising sign, as the ability to interact with the townsfolk was one of the most cherished aspects of the original Fable games.
As with any game set for a vague “2025” release, there’s always the possibility of delays. Avowed, for instance, has already raised doubts about timely releases for expansive RPGs. However, if Playground Games and Eidos Montreal can deliver on their promises, Fable could become one of the standout titles of 2025.
